The Healing Power of Writing

Writing is something that can mean differently to different people. There are people who think writing can be an escape. To some, writing can serve some purpose in their lives. To some, writing can be a job they have to do in order to make a loving or a passion. The thing is that writing has been powerful enough to shape history. With the use of the imperative sentence, writing has been a measure of command. Writing allowed us to keep track of records, ideas, inventions and even our own emotions. Humanity and the way we think has been shaped by writing. But we don’t really take notice how writing can be a way to heal oneself.

We live in a world defined by stress. Each day, we wake up to the challenges and stress of life as we find ways to deal with them. Writing can be a way to help us cope better with life’s greatest crucibles. Our troubled minds get us to where we want to go as we write. We soon realize how powerful writing can be to send us away from trouble. Let us find out how writing can be a great way to heal oneself.

When you are stressed, the mind is in disarray. Our lives are meaningless and aimless when we are stressed. There are times we are subjected to do super-human feats. There are people who use writing as a way to heal them. When we write, we are able to do things that are spectacular. Writing makes sense of things as you put your words on paper. Our minds are in order when we write. Our meaningless world seems to have some meaning in a snap. It can be a way to have more sense.

As we write, we are not aware how silly or awkward our writing can be. When we write, say a poem or a prose, we use an imperative sentence to shot us to a calmer reality. There are times we are fixated too much on our grammar. Our minds will be steadier and calmer if we focus on just writing stuff. Our being becomes calmer when we write stuff. When we write, we put things into perspective and make us meditate about the moment. This is what some writers call being “in the zone”. It is the place between the devil and the deep blue sea of our creativity, knocking the socks off.

When stress strikes it can make us sick. Writing can heal us.

Writing can help make things sensible. Healing can start when you put yourself into a wiring mode.
